“Great and friendly and very welcoming people attend our church.”
On any given Sunday morning, the Phoenix First congregation is likely to hear updates from Angel Barnett, who leads all aspects of Phoenix First Women’s Ministry. These include multiple Bible studies, as well as opportunities to serve through condolence meals, decorating, teaching, creative arts, dance, community service, crisis pregnancy, clothing and the food pantry.
“The Phoenix First women can mobilize and fill needs in the church in any area,” states Angel. “There are so many opportunities to minister within any interest you may have, including drama, behind-the-scenes, and street ministries. I want to involve as many women as we can so they feel accepted, needed, trained, and released to serve in their gifted areas.”
Angel is passionate about the many Phoenix First opportunities to minister and to see lives changes. She values the fact that Phoenix First and its ministries build lifelong relationships.
“Our ministries connect women through Fusion Small Groups and different communication media such as Facebook, Twitter, and the Phoenix First website.”
Angel is a graduate of the intensive one-year Master’s Commission for young adults, which began at Phoenix First and is now a global discipleship program. Through ministry activities, she has traveled to Haiti, Serbia, Russia, Singapore, Bangladesh, India, El Salvador, Malaysia and Canada.
Angel is married to Phoenix First Assembly’s Lead Pastor, Luke Barnett. They are the parents of Aubrey and Annalee.
