Assistant Pastor James Pryor coordinates a number of ministry functions for PFA, including crisis counseling and benevolence, and also oversees services for life’s milestones such as water baptism, funeral and memorial services,. He also serves PFA as a pastor on call.
"Phoenix First wants to help people during this recession as much as we possibly can,” states Pastor Jim. “We seek to help those in crisis by delivering sound Biblical counseling. We offer resources for those seeking assistance.”
Prior to joining the Phoenix First staff in 2006, he volunteered for many years as an usher and bus pastor, and worked in the church’s security detail. Pastor Jim, is a third-generation ordained minister. His father and grandfather were both pastors.
His ministry work has taken him to Victoria Island, Vancouver BC, Fiji, Tahiti, New Zealand and Mexico.
Pastor Jim is passionate about his job and the work of Phoenix First because “We reach out to the hurting and needy people. We fulfill the Great Commission.”
In the community, Pastor Jim served the Phoenix Police Department as a chaplain for 11 years.
He majored in Biblical Studies at Vanguard University with an emphasis in Hebrew, pastoral care and counseling, and archaeology. He graduated from Buckeye Union High School.
